The Pain Management Institute at East Jefferson General Hospital offers a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of chronic pain, including a full range of interventional therapies, including physical therapy, cognitive therapy, medications and injections.

Pain Management is dedicated to helping those with chronic pain improve their quality of life by controlling their pain. Adequate pain control is important to an individual's physical and mental health. Untreated pain can cause lost sleep, depression, anxiety, irritability, lost productivity and the inability to do things they once enjoyed. Pain decreases the body's ability to fight disease and can prevent an individual from participating fully in his or her own care.

Medical Director, Eric D. Lonseth, M.D., M.P.H, leads the Pain Management Institute. He and his staff are committed to excellence and demonstrate respect, integrity and accountability, while maintaining responsiveness to the needs of their patients.  The institute takes an interdisciplinary approach to managing pain, with input from Palliative Care, Pastoral Care, Psychiatry, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy and other areas as needed.

The Pain Management Institute at East Jefferson General Hospital is located on the 5th floor of EJ North (4320 Houma Blvd). Patients can park in the EJ North Garage and take the parking elevator to the 1st floor of the building. Then switch to the building elevator and go to the 5th floor. Once there you will find the Pain Management reception desk.
