Thank you for inquiring about our Podiatric Medicine Residency Program at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana. Our Hospital is located approximately fifteen minutes from New Orleans International Airport and fifteen minutes from downtown New Orleans, near Lake Pontchartrain. 

We appreciate your interest and hope this short list of requirements for applying to our program is helpful.

All applicants shall be a graduate in good standing of a college of Podiatric Medicine approved by the Council of Education of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

All applicants must apply through CASPR only.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or must be a permanent resident in the United States, since we do not sponsor any type of visas.

You must have passed Boards I & II; no minimum passing scores required at this time.  You must obtain a full unrestricted Louisiana Medical license (the fee will be paid by the hospital).

We also require that you have at least three (3) professional letters of recommendation.

Candidates meeting these requirements will be considered for an interview and will be contacted by phone by the Residency Coordinator through CASPR.
