The EJGH Rehab Center provides comprehensive outpatient services
for the prevention and treatment of workplace injury. Services
include pre-placement screenings, functional capacity evaluations,
work hardening/conditioning programs, ergonomic assessments, and
post-injury rehabilitation for a variety of diagnoses. Our interdisciplinary
team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely
with the physician, employer and case manager to maximize performance
with a return-to-work focus.
PRE-PLACEMENT SCREENINGS
Job requirements and functional tasks are simulated in
the clinic, as outlined by the employer, to clarify applicants'
capabilities and determine where they best fit within the company.
JOB TASK EVALUATIONS
Therapists visit job sites and assess the tasks that comprise
specific job duties. This analysis is used to design personalized
fitness and conditioning programs for injury prevention and pre-placement
screenings.
FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATIONS
One-day evaluations assess major physical tolerance related to
strength, endurance, speed and flexibility. These tests have determined
reliability and validity to determine if an employee will be restricted
by his or her injury upon returning to full work duties, if duties
need to be modified, or if employee would benefit from other services
such as work conditioning/hardening prior to returning to work.
WORK HARDENING/CONDITIONING PROGRAMS
These programs combine physical and occupational therapy for longer
treatment sessions to build endurance, agility, fine motor skills,
flexibility, and strength. Employees also perform simulated job
tasks. To prevent re-injury, our team educates the employee on
ergonomics, adaptive strategies, correct body mechanics and energy
conservation techniques.
